This was definitely not the ‘norm.’ The ‘norm’ was to be out for a walk, sitting on a bench in the park, taking up homestead in his dormitory, or maybe even doing homework. Hours of the night slowly crept away from Sebastian and before he knew it, he had pulled an all-nighter special thanks to a streak of random inspiration. It was now the afternoon of the following day and his muse had all but dried up. But that wasn’t necessarily a bad thing as he was done writing the script he took so long to finish. Still feeling the need to get the project out of the way until filming was to be done, he made his way to the library in hopes of some research. It was to take place in London but he needed to do some research on props. Despite the fact that he lived in England his entire life, Sebastian didn’t know the native plants as well as he would’ve liked to. Seeing as his plot took place in the Victorian Era he would need to study up and take some notes.
Black, modern glasses sat atop the bridge of his angular nose. His deep auburn hair was not fixed as it usually was but, instead, held the appearance of being incredibly disgruntled and unkempt. To say the least, Sebastian’s appearance and presentation was not nearly up to his usual standards. With dissecting eyes blood shot with lack of sleep, he weaved in and out of the many isles of reference books in search for a specific one that he had studied from in his fifth year. Sebastian recalled it to be one of the best volumes he had ever encountered and was desperate to bask in its seemingly infinite wisdom. But for some reason, the book wasn’t anywhere to be found. He even inquired the librarian of its whereabouts. She claimed it to be still in the library unless if someone stole it – unlikely.
Brow furrowing in vexation, Sebastian peered around to the few people studying. One of them must have it, he concluded. Scanning the room he found a bank of tables. A singular table held only on visitor. The thick hardback that lay open in front of her, from his memory, looked to be the one he was in search of. Set on wanting information, Sebastian strode over to her table and peered down at the text to further validate his hypothesis of the book’s true title. Like always, he was correct. That was the book he needed. “Excuse me,” he interjected softly with a curious expression, “might that be a plant encyclopedia?”

[/i] Siri jumped, shaking the chair that she was sitting on and the next thing she knew was that she was pushing her chair away from the table with her legs as far as possible, her head snapping up and her eyes widening in horror. They had come. Those jerks that often slammed her glasses into her face. She was about to maybe throw her chair back and flee from the library when she realized that it was the dude who entered earlier, the tired one. She stared at him, mute for a while, before she found her voice. When she spoke, it sounded more like a squeak, still getting over the shock. "Yes. Yes it is." Siri paused for a while before continuing, her voice stronger. "Do you need it?"[/size][/ul]

Blinking rapidly in shock, Sebastian took a single step back at the girl’s reaction. He did not intend to offend her or startle her but it was obvious he did something wrong. Brain drunk with need for sleep, he scrambled to think back on what his social faux pas could have possibly been. Did he smell? No, that couldn’t be the case; he had just showered a few hours prior. Did he look upsetting? Sebastian patted his face to check for abnormalities. Not particularly, upsetting. True, he probably looked a bit disgruntled special thanks to his fatigue but he looked normal enough. Was he wearing pants? Mortified at this sudden thought, he peered down and relief washed over him as he was, indeed, fully clothed. When she stared he could only stare back, mystified and completely bewildered.
Finally, she spoke. If it didn’t sound so rude or if he wasn’t so out of character due to lack of sleep, Sebastian would’ve made a comment that she sounded quite like a mouse when she spoke and if that was her regular tone of voice she would need to work on her public speaking skills. He blinked a few times, taking a moment to process her words. “Er… Yes, actually, I do need it… ” he paused faltering but then regaining his voice, “That is if you are no longer in need of it.” Still completely puzzled as to her strange behavior, Sebastian watched her in anticipation. An interesting creature she was.

The boy needed the book obviously, or else he wouldn't have approached her in the first place. Stupid. It took her a while for the message to pass through her cluttered head, but eventually it did of course. Relinquish your hold on it girl, before something bad happens! She blinked lightly at the male as he seemed to check himself, as though there were stains on him or something. The only thing that seemed out of place was his messy hair and slightly rumpled clothing, but other than that, the boy seemed perfectly clean.
Blinking once at the order in her head and nodding to herself, Siri lightly removed her hand from the book and hooked her fingers underneath it to lightly snap it shut, pulling out the red ribbon she had been using as a bookmark as well. "Mmkay..." With her palms, she lightly pushed the book towards the other end of the table where he stood and rested her hands on the table, staring at him through the thick lenses of her spectacles. Siri waited patiently for the thanks that was soon to perhaps follow and him to leave like people always did whenever they received something. Maybe then she could proceed to picking out another book or something; maybe the study of rivers or something, since this male here wasn't really a threat and he didn't look like the kind that would go around bullying nerds.
Maybe he did, and she just didn't know it. She didn't want to know either.

A sigh of relief was expelled from Sebastian’s lips. “Thank you,” he murmured gratefully. The girl was odd. Definitely. But Sebastian wasn’t going to dwell on it. He needed to get this research done and get out And he especially needed some sleep and he wasn’t going to dally in the library, despite the fact that he could easily spend all day self-teaching. Reaching out, Sebastian pulled the heavy book closet to him. And with a soft grunt he collapsed into the chair opposite of the girl. With steady, sure fingers, he opened the book and flipped to the back in search of the index. Sebastian’s index finger trailed down the list of regions and time periods when finally he stopped at the one he was looking for. He tapped the page of the book as if would make him remember the page number better. Tuning the pieces of paper, Sebastian ended up closer to the front of the book. A muted smile pulled at the corners of his lips as the simple joy of finding the information that he needed flooded his mind. Scanning the page almost excitedly, Sebastian read and soaked in the words like a sponge. With haste, he pulled out his journal and began scrawling notes in impossibly perfect script handwriting. Despite his fatigue, it couldn’t diminish his happiness of learning. A dull chuckle rumbled at the base of his throat. He might’ve fit in better as a nerd. But that’s when Sebastian remembered; he had much more confidence and feeling of self-worth than most nerds.
The thought brought him to wonder. Wonder about the girl that sat in front of Sebastian. For quite a few minutes he had completely disregarded her. How atrociously rude of him to do so. It wasn’t until then that he peered up from her book and studied her silently. A lopsided smirk stretched one corner of his mouth upwards. Sebastian liked her hair; there weren’t many red-heads at Wigmore. Even though it was her genetics that decided it for her, he couldn’t help but admire the uniqueness of it. He pushed his retro glasses up the bridge of his nose, a small smile still tracing his lips. “I’m sorry, I never introduced myself, I’m Sebastian,” he said with a charming smile, reaching his hand across the table in a friendly gesture.
